How to mark off an absense?

  • Today is Columbus Day, so I assumed that I didn't have school today since my brother and my brother's friend who's in college doesn't have school today. Just now, one of the attendance people at school (at 6?) called me and said that I was absent today from school.

    I've always (in my life) taken attendance as a big part of my life. I have only been absent from school 2 times in my life (including this one), but my mom knew about the other one. My mom is a person who hates things like this and I'm in enough trouble already from breaking the clothes washer and for failing in my classes. How do I get this absense from not being marked?

    My brother said that a doctor's note would be OK if I was able to forge one, but I don't think that it'll take off the absense, it'll only make it an "excused absense". What do I do? It's OK with me, I just don't want my mom to find out.


  • You can't take off an absence. Unless you say your great-grampa's dying wish, who died today, asked to not have you marked absent. THat won't work, nor will anything you try. Man up to it dude, it's one absence, and if your mom isn't a jerk, she will think its fine, cuz honestly, what school doesn't take Columbus Day OFF?
